Beyond our curriculum, we at SIMSREE take up several activities to enhance the student’s world view and gain exposure to as many diverse activities as we can.
‘A leadership development camp’ at Deolali, Nasik was first of such activity this year which had student brainstorming over several initiatives to be undertaken, besides the lectures seminars and over all personality development activities.
A seminar on ‘World AIDS Day’ by Dr. Alka Deshpande, of J.J Hospital, was a step in making students aware about the disease plaguing our society and sensitizing the students towards the issue.
A series of Civil defence lectures by Sanjeevan Joshi, Additional Controller, Civil Defence Academy, had our students enrolling as volunteer for the organization taking a small step in contributing towards the society.
Students of SIMSREE volunteered at Sanjay Gandhi National Park in association with Bombay Natural History Society, for Mahashivratri Celebrations in the forest premises.
It’s not by chance that students of SIMSREE are found to be most adaptable to various cultures and work group situations. It’s because throughout the year we make it a point to celebrate every festival, and function across religions true to spirit of “unity in diversity’ we cherish at SIMSREE.
Knowing full well that our students will have responsibility to spearhead organizations in the global business markets we grab every opportunity which comes our way to understand issues of global world. One such opportunity came when we got to interact with Mr. Soderlund Caj, Sr. Advisor under Presidency of Finland, Nordic council of Ministers-07, who gave us a glimpse into the Nordic world making us aware of nuances of working of western world, on occasion of ‘Management day’.
There is a lot we gain from society, and some we give back. As our attempt to give back to the society, SIMSREE contingent was present in full strength for ‘Mumbai Marathon’ which has now become a regular feature for SIMSREE. Our students have also been actively involved as volunteers for social causes like blood donation camps, Bombay Natural History Society, and Aakanksha foundation just to name a few.
These activities and several more not only facilitate individual development but also go a long way in imbibing in students there responsibility towards society of which they will be future leaders.
