Sydenham Institute of Management Studies, Research and Entrepreneurship Education (SIMSREE) was established by the Government of Maharashtra in the year 1983 to impart management education and guidance to the top management studies aspirants who come out of the highly competitive entrance examinations, with a view to develop future Captains of Business and Industry alike.

Events

The various events which are organised throughout the year are a microcosm of the actual management tasks. These events give the students a chance to come up with solutions and manage situations in the face of actual constraints and timeliness. The value gained from the organization of these events is invaluable, and all the events are managed by the student committees detailed in the preceding section.

Entrepreneurship has always been the keystone of education at SIMSREE. To inculcate the spirit of teamwork and co-operation from the moment they enter SIMSREE, students join committees to organize various events throughout their stint. These activities give them a sense of ownership, and are an ideal way to demonstrate their leadership capabilities by working both in individual capacities and in teams.

Placements

Executive Placement Week '08, the Annual Campus Recruitment Program of SIMSREE, Mumbai, was carried out amidst much enthusiasm. The placement week saw companies offering an eclectic mix of packages and profiles. Out of more than 100 companies that had evinced interest to participate in the placement process, 55 were invited, out of which 42 companies were able to recruit. The companies offered fatter pay cheques which took the average salary above INR 8.0 Lakhs p.a., up by almost 15% as compared to last year.
