Student Life
 
Entrepreneurship has always been the keystone of education at SIMSREE. To inculcate the spirit of teamwork and co-operation from the moment they enter SIMSREE, students join committees to organize various events throughout their stint. These activities give them a sense of ownership, and are an ideal way to demonstrate their leadership capabilities by working both in individual capacities and in teams. In the process, they also learn to interact with the outside world and organisations during the course of execution of their duties as office bearers the students develop the quality and capabilities of SIMSREEmans, which instils confidence in them and hones their communication skills and negotiating capabilities. The committee activities are an indisputable means of building up the students' soft skills and act as good trial ground to implement their learnings.

Placement Committee

The 100% placements record at SIMSREE year after year is a testimony of the faith and trust our recruiters have in the quality and the capabilities of SIMSREEmans. This essentially is due to skillful and smart work of the Placement Committee. The committee performs the task of showcasing the best talents of the students and maintaining constant interaction and interface between the industry and the institute thus strengthening corporate links of SIMSREE. Sydenham Management Association (SMA)
The Sydenham Management Association (SMA) stands at the apex of the student committee structure at SIMSREE. SMA undertakes the important activity of coordination between the students and the management. The SMA includes the Joint Chairpersons, Treasurers, General Secretaries and the following Committees.


1. Guest Lecture Committee
The Guest Lecture Committee organizes guest lectures, invites experts in various fields and provides the platform for the exchange of ideas and opinions between these experts and the students, on contemporary issues. The Committee also arranges frequent batch wise and sector wise meets which in addition to strengthening the ties between the existing students and the industry; help students to gain an insight into the corporate world.

2. Alumni Committee(ALCOM)
The ability of SIMSREE in creating strong leaders is proven by the qualities of individuals that have passed out from the institute. The Alumni Committee undertakes the task of maintaining a strong link between our esteemed alumni and the institute via Mentorship program, where each student is assigned a high profile alumni mentor, who helps to nurture and guide the student in the chosen field of interest. 3.Clubs
The Clubs are divided into 4 categories - Finance Club, Marketing Club, HR Club and Operations Club.The main motive of having clubs is to develop skills of students depending upon the specializations they prefer.Students can be part of various clubs and assimilate knowledge of various fields.The committee organizes workshops and interactive sessions which harnesses student's talents.The Committee fine-tunes the skills of students participating in various inter and intra college activities by holding repeated mock sessions that would ensure the students of SIMSREE stand a class apart from the rest. The Committee constantly tracks the dynamic business environment recommending additional inputs given to the students to include the latest developments in the business world.


4. Media & Corporate Communications Committee
The primary role of the Media & Corporate Communications Committee is to ensure building of brand SIMSREE, by projecting the Institute's image to the Industry and Corporate world via strategic media tie-ups, releasing corporate material, designing and printing of important brochures. 5. The Entrepreneurship Cell(E-Cell)
The E-Cell is a new committee that endeavors to bring out the young industry stalwarts. The E- cell shall seek to form fruitful relationship with the venture and angel investors. It is affiliated with the E-cell at IIT Bombay which is the largest E-cell in the country. The E-cell plans to organize b-plan competitions and simulate the real life challenges through live case studies.


6. The Student Social Responsibility(SSR) Committee
The SSR Committee works along with the students of SIMSREE for investing their knowledge and skills to cultivate benefits for the poor and needy sections of the society through various social activities. The activities undertaken, while serving their primary purpose of social service also develop a sense of social awareness amongst the students by involving them.
We have been associated with various NGOs which are working to address various educational, social and environmental issues in the society. 7. The Sydenham Management Review(SMR) Committee
The SMR committee’s objective is to provide space to the corporates to share their ideas and for management students to learn from their thought process. This is accomplished through the SMR magazine. Read More.


8. The Student Event Committee
The Student Event Committee promotes and encourages student interest in the fields like management,cultural,literary events etc.It also encourages students to take part in sports. Read More.


8. The Corporate Relations Committee
The Corporate Relations Committee is the official SIMSREE committee which is entrusted with the role of nurturing and developing long term relationship with the eminent dignitaries of the corporate world.
