Sydenham consistently
gets the cream of the crop of students from the CET. Out
of more than 45000 who appear for the test, our students
are from among the top 200, from the top one percentile.
If there existed an ideal portfolio in terms of breadth
and depth, then the current crop at SIMSREE would not be
too far. At SIMSREE we have a kaleidoscopic diversity of
talents among us which collectively blends in a wonderful
pattern helping learning synergies.
A glimpse into our talent pool will help you find poets
and singers expressing themselves in language other than
their mother tongue. Among people of lesser romantic disposition
we have, a mimic that would make a laughter challenge proud,
and a bunch of guitarists who strum life in our functions,
otherwise playing on demand rejuvenating us from our hectic
schedule.
If that’s not enough, savour a photography exhibition
by one of our own photography champ, or sit around a landscape
painter or a skilled pencil sketcher, indulging in his talent.
Do not be surprised if you overhear discussions ranging
from more subtle ‘type of birds present in Himalayas’
(by our nature enthusiasts) to overheated yet professional
arguments about game strategies in European football.
For the more adventures types, we have a military man attempting
to challenge a martial artist and a few state level sportsmen
trying to beat czars of Counterstrike having serious gaming
experience.
Talk about intellectuals and we have a finance guru with
a CA-CS-ICWA under his belt, students preparing for international
exams like CFA, couple of Mensa members, a mix of
engineers, commerce, science, arts, management and media
graduates tearing apart every issue of financial magazine
and newspaper.
The diversity comes with a strong base with students who
hail from the marquee institutes like UICT , VJTI , Govt.
COE Pune, Fr CRCE, D.J.Sanghvi COE, Poddar College
of Commerce, NM College of Commerce and of course
Sydenham College of Commerce and Economics.
Thus together we are a symphony with the single leitmotif
called life.
