The SSR Committee works along with the students of SIMSREE for investing their knowledge and skills to cultivate benefits for the poor and needy sections of the society through various social activities. The activities undertaken, while serving their primary purpose of social service also develop a sense of social awareness amongst the students by involving them.
We have been associated with various NGOs which are working to address various educational, social and environmental issues in the society. The activities instill a sense of social responsibility and aim at creating socially responsible business managers, leaders and entrepreneurs for the future.

Activities Carried Out by SSR :

1. The Akanksha Foundation – We are associated with ‘The Akanksha Foundation’ which works in the field of education. We take part in various activities conducted by the NGO to help achieve their vision of ‘To equip all students with the education, skills and character they need to lead empowered lives’.


2. Sanskar India Foundation – The NGO, our association with which continues to work for environmental Health, Social and civic issues. We are contributing towards one of their projects called ‘Tohfa Zindagi Ka’ – an organ donation awareness project.


3. MUNIJAN (Mumbai University’s New Initiative for Joint Action Now) -SIMSREE won the university level competition with the project ‘Eco Binder’. SSR committee was a part of the steering committee of MUNIJAN. The winners of MUNIJAN and the SSR committee made it to the headlines of leading newspapers with their special visit with the first lady of US, Michelle Obama making SIMSREE proud.


4. SIFE (Students In Free Enterprise) – SIFE is an international non-profit organization that works with leaders in business and higher education to mobilize university students to make a difference in the communities in need while developing the skills to become socially responsible business leaders. This is the first time when SIMSREE is getting featured in the process of its association with SIFE.


5. Aseem Foundation – The NGO is committed for developing and establishing a “connect” between people from disturbed region along the borders and from the other parts of India. We have plans to contribute to the e-friendship campaign of the NGO.


6. With the help of organizations like ‘The Pavement Club’ and ‘Street Children Ministery’, the committee aims at giving street children and orphanages a hope and smiles by various donations and giving them the our support by time and involvement in their activities. Recently with the help of the Street Children Ministry, SSR celebrated the Christmas festival with street kids.


7. Recently, the committee also got associated with ‘Love and Care’, which is involved in certain community development initiatives like working for women, tribal people, environmental issues, etc.

Through all this and more, the SSR committee at SIMSREE is constantly working towards helping the society, make it a better place to live by creating socially responsible individuals, business managers and entrepreneurs of the future.
